Repair Grants for Places of Worship |
| Message |
This grant scheme is available to support urgent repair projects to listed places of worship in England, for example the repair of roofs, gutters, towers etc, where the overall project cost is estimated to be in excess of £10,000. The day-to-day administration of the scheme is carried out be English Heritage regional offices.
Applications are welcomed from any faith group that worships in a listed building, regardless of the type of building. For example a building formerly used as a cinema but now used by a formally constituted faith group for worship at least six times a year, would be eligible to apply under this scheme. Applications are accepted in two batches through the year, with deadlines this year being 30 June 2010 for grade 1 and 2 listed buildings and 30 September 2010 for grade 2 buildings. Grants are offered to those repair projects deemed most urgent and showing financial need.
For those interested in the scheme please contact your local English Heritage regional office, contacts can be found at www.english-heritage.org.uk
This scheme comes from the National Lottery, Heritage Lottery Fund and English Heritage. |
